PaleBlueDot's HT v2.0

Here is the old v1.0. There was actually a v1.5, you could say, adding a Zenith 32" Tube HDTV, but that is gone now.

Version 2.0 moves the home theater out of the basement and into the living room upstairs.

My newest addition is a LG 32LC2D-U. The "-U" is Circuit City's version with 2 HDMI ports vs 1 on the non-"-U' model. I have a Pioneer DV-656A hooked up via Component, Sound via Onkyo TX-DS494, Polk Audio R30 fronts, R15 Rears, CSi30 Center, and a Definitive Technology ProSub80 for Sub. I am still waiting for my TV Stand to arrive so I can get the Center Channel off the floor

One of the biggest changes I've made is creating a Home Theatre PC environment. In my previous setup, I had a laptop running a wireless card to play MP3's from my main computer. Now I've wired Cat-6 around my home and a Gigabit router so I can stream large HD files from my main PC to the home theatre without a single hiccup.

For now, the HTPC is a Shuttle XPC running a Hauppauge PC150 PVR tuner card. I use Windows Vista RC2 with MediaCenter. I already have an HDTV card in my primary PC which has a Dell 20" Widescreen monitor. I plan to buy another for this unit eventually.

The TV is setup to support 1024x768 via VGA input, which provides nice clear text for web browsing and checking email.

While I can't run 1366x768 (the native resolution), my video card (ATI 9600-XT) does let me push 1360x768. Text is a bit fuzzier, but video still looks acceptably crisp. Reading other forums around, 1:1 pixel mapping on LCD TVs seems to be a sort of holy grail.

More pics to come when I get my new TV stand.

Nice setup.

It looks very cozy.
