Yay!!! Another Mac in a home theatre thread, I'd better get going and find my camera and buy that video adaptor for my lappy.

1080p trailers are wicked on this TV. I mean I now have a 46" 1920 x 1080 computer monitor in my living room. Front Row is incredible on this bad boy.

The PS3 connected to the HDTV is pretty amazing as well.

Can't see the PS3, but I believe ya.

Don't ya just love the 880, that remote is awesome.

The Mits looks very simular to the Bravia 46" 1080p set I had but I bet your Mits is better.

Thanks for sharing your HT pics!

That looks great! Doesn't the center get in the way when full screen viewing is watched, and is the center post of the entertinment stand bent inwards for a reason?

Again..looks great.

Edited: And what is the purpose of the Mac being in there so deep and away from where you sit?

Surprisingly no, it is almost the perfect height where there is a little bit of space from the top of the speaker to the bottom of a 1.78:1 image. If you lay down on the couch then the center blocks a very small portion of the screen, but while sitting up, it is perfect.

That is an after effect of having a 220 lb. 38" tube HDTV on top of a cheap IKEA stand. Whenever I needed to get to the back to rewire, things would bend.

The Mac is normally in my room, but I hook it up via optical and DVI into the TV to utilize the 1920 x 1080 resolution of the TV. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, so the placement is not necessary to enjoyment. It just needs to be close enough that I can plug in the outputs to the stereo and TV. I set the monitors up so that they are next to each other and I can move the mouse from one screen to another as well as move windows. The shot from 300 on the screen is from the 1080p movie trailer I downloaded on quicktime.

I am really amazed at the set up. The clarity when watching a 1080p movie trailer from the mac, a 1080p Blu-ray from the PS3, a 1080i HD-DVD from the HD-D1, and 1080i/720p HD cable is incredible on the TV, the colors just pop and the detail is extraordinary. SD-DVD's aren't too bad either. I mainly use the Denon DVD-2910 as a CD, DVD-A, and SACD player, although it is hooked up via component and can still be used as a 480p DVD player.

This is why I need a Dedicated Center instead of my Wal-Mart stands! :evil2

Very sweet set up, really like the Mitsu...what's the iMac, size/specs?

About the Front Speakers...I'm sure they designed LCD's/made sure it doesn't get in the way...if/when I have to change my set up, my AQUOS fits nice with my CSi3 polk audio

You need to start giving us some good reviews of BR films. We have been hearing a lot about HD-DVD, but besides Derb, there aren't many BR owners. The additional benefit is that you can give a clue as to how the PS3 is as a BR player. This would directly influence me, because I will eventually want a ps3, and knowing how good a BR player it is will really help me out.

I like the setup. My cousin has that same Ikea setup, and his was starting to bow too. Hmm... Derb, the PS3 is in the bottom left section of the cabinet. Looks really big. I guess the lighting also is a drag. Great for having a cheery place to live and relax, but not so great for movie watching. Still, to be right there by the beach must be nice.

I have only seen Talladega Nights so far, I am getting Back Hawk Down and Terminator 2 today from Amazon. I have also bought X3, Monster House, Ice Age 2, and Stealth and am waiting for shipping. I will post info after I get some titles rolling in and will post them in the Hi def forum.

Do you have any problems with your IMac sliding and or vibrating off your sub

No, a good quality sub does not vibrate. It vibrates air, not itself. The iMac doesn't move at all.

Awesome setup!

Yours is basically identical to how I'd like mine to be. Are the plants real or fake?

I just bought a Denon AVR-887 with full HDMI support. I love it... PCM soundtracks and Dolby TrueHD in its full resolution sounds incredible.

Does the Denon have 7.1 sound? I know it's not that common, but I bet more films will come out with 6.1 or 7.1 soundtracks.

Yep, it supports full resolution PCM up to 7.1 channels through the HDMI port. So I watch The Descent in 6.1 uncompressed PCM and it plays back flawlessly

Awesome!! I recently got a Sony STR-DG1000 with the same capability. And you are so right about the PCM sound.

Did you have issues with trying to connect your hd-dvr to your receiver? I noticed that you have it as component/optical. I tried to connect mine, and it had hdcp issues and wouldn't let me. Nevertheless, I noticed that the receiver's hdmi connection to my TV actually improves the picture quality than if it was going from the dvr to my tv via component directly.
