Wilson Home Theatre Take 2

The Gear:
Sanyo Z4 Projector
96" Screen
Pioneer VSX-82TXS Receiver
Pioneer DV-46AV DVD Player
Wii
XBox 360 with HDAO
2.8 P4 Computer
Energy RC-50 Front speakers
Energy RC-10 Rears
Energy RC-LCR Center
Energy S12.3 Sub

It still needs some work, like a stand for the center speaker. I also want to update the screen.

Edit: The speaker shelf is complete.

Sweet setup you've got there! I really like the layout and I love the room(s), gotta love that pool table. And even though you are using that temporary stand, it doesn't detract from the overall look. Energy makes some tremendous speakers, I had a neighbor friend who was a big time audiophile and had me over to listen to them and I was very impressed. Thanks for sharing your amazing system.

ZOINKS!! That is one helluva room you got dude! You can clearly see everything was layed out in advance and I am truly impressed by the way you recessed the a/v equipment and pj! AWESOME!

You could build a shelf for the center that attaches to the wall versus a stand, just a thought.

And what (I brightened the image) is that to the right of the stone pillar, back on the wall? Is that a framed picture made to look like a window?

Yup, that's a picture I took in Vancouver. The electrical panel is behind it.

Nice receiver you have there Does the DV-46 output SACD over HDMI to your receiver, or do you have to use the 5.1 analog out?

Good looking HT!

Ah, I love the words Elite

Great setup. You worked with the space you had very well.

What size is the screen?

Missed this first time around..

I don't know, I would assume so. I don't actually have any SACD discs.

Nice shelf! Christ, what is that thing? Did you build it? It looks like you attached a 2x6 to the wall and built 'out' a 3 sided box of sorts? How about some more details please.

Also, now that you changed the pics, what is behind what appears to be a drop down shade on the left wall if looking at the screen? It's got a cord of some kind leading into it.

(PS. Those cue sticks are warped! )

That's the receiver I was thinking about getting a few months back. It's a "level 6" receiver so it should be able to pass SACD, TrueHD and DTS-MA via HDMI.

You nailled it exactly. I screwed a 2 x 6 to the wall and then built a box out of pine. Stained it black and then screwed it to the 2x6 on the wall. Note that all of the wall outlets (cable power speaker) are all behind the box so the board that's in the front is just sitting there so you can pull it out to access the outlets.

Also on the left wall that's a window with a black out blind for light control. Because the stairwell to the basement is open to upstairs I had to do half the friggin house so I can watch a movie in the daytime.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The whole room took about 3 years. I'll have to post some before pictures someday.

anyway, in the middle inside the box there is a board to stop the outside board from going in too far. so if you push in one side the other side see-saws out. (does that make sense?)

Wow, you are getting my vote for now. I love the taste you have in decorating your manroom. I guess the only question I have is whether the audio sounds "boomy" with the hard floors?

Wilson,

Now that's a really great looking shelf. The way it's designed really compliments the room. I really like it!
