Pirate's ARMADA II

Here are some brand spanking new HT pictures. I’m still not very happy with them, but they’ll have to do. You can check out my past HT info HERE.

DESIGN & FEATURES:
The theatre is a converted garage with groovy red shag carpeting, and thick black material on the walls to help with sound and aesthetics. The room seats 5 or 6 guests comfortably and has a high ceiling, perfect for mounting that magical movie-shooting box.

The room is also completely light controlled with remote-activated fade up/down lights. I hope to have a few new additions to the HT in the next few months, so these pics will be outdated (like some of the equipment) soon.

VIDEO:
• Sanyo PLV-Z2 Projector
• 110” DIY Screen
• Pioneer ELITE DV-45A DVD Player
• Oppo OPDV971H DVD Player (all region)
• Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD Player
• Sharp BD-HP20 Blu-ray Player

AUDIO:
• Pioneer ELITE VSX-52TX: 7.1 (THX EX / DTS ES)
• Axiom Millennia M60 v2 Towers
• Axiom VP150 v2 Center Channel
• Axiom QS8 v2 Quadpolar Rear Speakers (x3)
• KLH sub (soon to be replaced with… something)

ETC:
• Pronto 2000 Touch-screen Remote Control. (Controls everything in the HT)

Wow! Someone better hurry and save all these photos before they disappear!

The pictures look great PH, the only comment i would make is why are they so dark?

pirate your HT is frickin' awesome!!! The PQ that Sanyo projector puts out is truly impressive. Very detailed and vibrant. All I can say is WOW! Thanks for sharing with us your most excellent HT. You took some great photos BTW.

Thanks, guys.

Zeph, I've been so impressed with the Z2. I plan to upgrade to a Z5 soon-ish, so that I can go to a constant height setup.

One of the problems I have with my pics is that my camera seems to add a rounding effect (almost like fish-eye) that makes the photos look warped. Especially the screen.

That would be sweet! If it looks that good now I can only imagine how it will look with the Z5.

I think that's something many of us have experienced with our photos (myself included). I recently retired my old Olympus which was notorious for the fish eye thing and got a Sony digital SLR. It's a very nice camera, but it does so much that I am only scratching the surface with what the thing is truly capable of. One day I will master it.

I doubt I can add those pics without going back to external links. I should have commandeered the first 3 or 4 posts.

I really want to see the "obsession" pics again as well

Great set up as usual and love the posters! Especially the No Country for Old Men one, excellent!

wow. you're still using the old Z2? isn't it time for an upgrade?

btw, that theater is hawtblack! OMG

I love black, as can be seen by the abundance of curtains and black leather in my theater room, but that's awesome. How much blacker could it be? None. None blacker.

It's not you. Any camera will do the same thing in wide angle mode. If you have photoshop or something similar they have a lens correction filter that will do away with that.

Like I said above, I will upgrade to the Z5 soon, but as you can tell by the screenshots, the Z2 is still doing its job well. I got a new bulb not too long ago, so the picture is still as vivid as ever.

Thanks. I'll look into that.

Probably sell it to help with the cost of the new PJ/amp/sub.

Nice stuff.

That HD-A1 is so 2006 though but everything else looks immaculate.

I have uploaded a few new photos (including the requested "obsession" pics) in a different format than usual.

I still need to take some photos of the DVD library, and all my pretty new Blu-ray discs.

This thread shows up on the third page of hits when doing a Google search for "QS8 v2."

I'm totally going to sign up for an account!
