got the cloth from home depot. 11.9 x 14.9 and a grommet kit from jo-ann with 3 refills. debating whether to wash it with some bleach to get it a lighter color(cream color) or use it as is.

I would think if you bleached it there would be the possibility of it streaking (but that is a guess on my part). Maybe you could do some research at Outdoor Theaters - AVS Forum

Hope that helps.

Congrats on the outdoor move. Can't wait to see more pics (in action).

(if kids and/or beer drinking adults are involved, be careful with the speaker wire)

ok had my first showing. did not bleach the screen after washing it in warm water and 3 times in the dryer on medium it appears lighter it dyed the water during washing.installed grommets on it and used rope to to hold it to the frame.once the movie was showing i didn't notice the wrinkles or the seam and i tried. i took pictures of it in action but the image on the screen didn't come out too good(how do you do it). movie was nice and bright.showed daddy day camp. got the distance right on the first try. the projector is about 20 feet from the screen(20 my feet heel/toe)

In order to get a descent screen shot pic you have to pause the movie and use a long shutter speed on your digital camera. The camera will need to be on a tripod. Also, you may want to turn the flash off so that doesn't mess with it.

Lookin good.

well never got around to the new pics. right now the screen is behind the garage under snow. im going to trim the scree to 12x7 so its 16x9 currently its 12x8. if the screen is still good i will reuse it otherwise i will pick up another cloth. all this will be done in the spring.

well the drywall screen took a hit. i had a extenstion cord running behind to run the charger on my car and the cord got snagged by the snowblower pulling the drywall down. trying to put it back up the other piece fell so there bent and scuffed up. so come spring i will build a better garage screen from PVC that will be about 110 inchs (about the size of 4x8 sheet of drywall) and it will hang from some wood nailed to the studs. the drywall was supposed to be used to fix a hole in the wall in the house but ended up being a screen so now i guess i will have to fix the hole in the wall LOL.

OK with me new neighbors sounding interested in the theater im making my own version of drive in speakers. there a pair of speakers taken from a broken rear projection tv with eye bolts screwed into the plastic. they hang on a wooden pull with screws on each side to hang from. i will need 30 feet of wire to go from the stereo to the poll and 25 feet for each speaker to reach the neighbors deck. i will order 1 18AWG CL2 Rated 2-Conductor Loud Speaker Cable - 250ft (For In-Wall Installation).

ok if im going to make my own drive in speakers might as well do it right. i will use 2 speakers i took from a GPX speaker that the cd player went out on. will use banana plugs and jacks to connect the speakers to the poll and RCA jacks to connect the wires to the stereo. and might build a cover to protect the cover and banana jacks. will take picks when done. but heres links to what im getting.

WIRE

BANANA JACK

BANANA PLUGS

well last sunday the projector decided not to operate. no matter what i did it would not boost a image froma video sorce. i unplugged the video cable serveral times re-started the projector nothing worked. i had 2 movies lined up as im showing double features Fridays and saturdays and sundays i show 1 sense people go back to work on monday. friday the projector worked no problem saturday it started being stubborn sunday it would not work at all. it did this last year also. so i dropped it off at radio shack for repair. so meanwhile i ordered a brand new optoma EP721 DLP projector.

update radio shack couldn't fix it couldn't get info for the unit. took it a shop they said it needed both main boards replaced and was looking at around $900. not worth it. the new projector does the job so far.
