Theater Chlngr1970 3.0

New House, New Theater setup

Angel didn't get along well with the old place, so we are back up in Everett. It's a MUCH smaller house, but with all the problems we were having with the old place ( house falling apart, neighborhood, schools... ) she had to move.

The new place has that old house charm. it was built in 1937, has only one bathroom ( UGH! ) but she is happy, and that is what matters, right?

I thought I had updated my old thread, but since there have been so many changes since I started it, this will be the next itteration of the Chlngr1970 Home Theater.

Display: Mitsubishi WD73827

I picked this up from our Service Auction for only $500. Even if I have to replace the lamp soon, it is still a better deal than trying to buy a new one. It is a 1080P display, but it does not accept a 1080P input I'm not THAT disappointed as it looks FANTASTIC!

Congrats on the new place...even if it's only got one bathroom . As long as SWMBO is happy then everything will be copacetic.

Nice setup you've got there...that 73 incher sure is majestic looking. Damn nice display.

...but my favorite thing was the giant Yoda PEZ dispenser .

I know it's not the same set, but maybe the VGA or HDMI 2 can do 1080P.

I tinkered with that when I first got the set, but for some reason, decided it wasn't going to work. Tinkering with it some more it looks like I got it working. Watching LotR:FotR looks fantastic! I need to pop in some native 1080P content to see how it looks. Thanks for that push Sycho!

After switching inputs, the image went all wonky. It was shrunk down to the left half of the screen...

Anyway...from the manual:
Quote:
HDMI 1: Not intended for use with personal computers.
HDMI 2: Accepts PC input.
VGA (640 x 480), 60-Hz
W-VGA (848 x 480), 60-Hz
SVGA (800 x 600), 60-Hz
W-SVGA (1064 x 600), 60-Hz
XGA (1024 x 768), 60-Hz
1280 x 720, 60-Hz (EIA standards)
It looks like only the XX927 can accept a 1080P input on HDMI2. That is probably why I quit trying

That's pretty much what everyone on AVS said, the only real drawback is that you can not adjust many of the picture settings, but I'm sure you'll be able to tinker around in the next little while and let us know how everything goes!

Thought I posted this a while ago...

Added a Vudu player

1080P video, DD+ audio. It's pretty cool!
