Having some idea of a budget will help greatly in suggesting equipment for you. Is this for a bedroom, dorm room, other?
What size room are we talking about? How big do you want the TV? Flat pannel? A basic HTIB will get you started. One from Pioneer comes with AVR, 5 speakers, and a sub for $219 SRP. Yamaha makes one that comes with HDMI video switching ( Not sure about audio at this price point ), 5 speakers, and a sub for $549 SRP. Onkyo makes a THX Select certified system that has 4 HDMI 1.3a inputs, Dolby THD, dts HDMA decoding, 7 speakers, and a sub for $1099 SRP. Seating can be as simple as the rocker style gamer seats if you want. Or, break the bank leather recliners. Just put three speakers across the front, and the surround beside or behind you and you will be set. Depending on your budget, the size of your room, and what gear you have now, you can have a sweet home theater. j

YVW. If you could share what kind of money you want to spend, I can make better suggestions. If you can get to a dealer for the gear, listen for yourself. YOU are the one that is going to have to live with the decisions you make, so make certian you are happy with your purchases.
How big is the room? ( L, W, H ) What do you have now? How big a TV do you want? How much money do you have to spend? What is your expectation for your setup? Do you do any gaming? These questions ALL can have a big influence on what gear you buy. j
